Università degli Studi di BolognaAbstract
The Année Philologique is the most important and systematic bibliographical research tool in the field of Greek and Latin classical antiquity and it is used by scholars all over the world. It is published yearly in Paris and, for the past few years, the on-line data-base has also been available on the Internet. The research programme's aim is to carry out, through the co-ordinated work of the three Units involved, an annual systematic survey of the Italian bibliography (i.e. of all the works published in Italy) concerning the research in the field of Greek and Latin classical antiquity. This is also meant to co-operate with the international équipe to the production of Année Philologique general data-base and to the publishing both of the annual volume and of the on-line edition on the Internet. The work is accomplished by an international team, which comprises a French unit in Paris, an American unit at Chapel Hill, a German unit at Heidelberg and Italian units (related to this project) in Genoa, Bologna and Cremona and a Spanish unit in Granada.
These bibliographical surveys are also used for the specific researches brought forth by the scholars involved in the project, according to their particular scientific interest.

Francesco BOSSI Università degli Studi di BOLOGNAResearch Objectives
The primary aim of this research programme is the annual survey and indexing of the Italian bibliography (i.e. all the works published in Italy) concerning the research in the field of Greek and Latin classical antiquity. This indexed material is meant to be inserted in the Année Philologique general data-base (the essential bibliographic instrument where the whole international production regarding the Classics is systematically surveyed and indexed), in order to co-operate with an international équipe to the production and the publishing (both in the annual volume and on the Internet web site, cf. 2.2) of the Année Philologique general data-base.The bibliographical inquiries are also employed for the specific researches brought for by the scholars involved in the project according to their peculiar scientific interests.

The scientific base is rooted, in the first instance, in the experience achieved by the director of the project, by the people in charge of each Unit and by all the members of the team: all these united skills comprise the research on the classical antiquity and, in particular, the co-operation with the Année Philologique international équipe from 1995 onward. The Année Philologique Italian office (Centro Italiano dell'Année Philologique) belongs to the Année Philologique international équipe, which has developed, through the years, an outstanding experience - unique in the world - in producing the fundamental bibliographical tool for the research in the realm of the classical studies.
During the last decade, all the members of the team - including the Italian scholars - carried out a full computerisation of the bibliographical data of the Année Philologique, which is vital for the production of the data-base, for the publishing of the volume and for the on-line consultation (at the web-page, callimac.vjf.cnrs.fr, for current bibliography. A new web-site, www.annee-philologique.com, for the files dating back to 1969, is also available now, while the recovery of the pre-1969 material is in progress.
