Description
The most important commentaries and studies about greek lyric poetry didn't close the door to a great deal of textual and literary questions. The main aim of the Research Unity Manager (Gabriele Burzacchini) will be to study the relationship between iambography, elegiac and monodic poetry and the drama (with special regards to the spoudaiogeloion), between Corinna and tragedy. The others members of the Research Unity will be engaged with the development of the manuscript tradition of the lyric poetry and of the tragedy, and with the influence of the iambographers and Alcaeus on drama (Massimo Magnani); with the relationship between choral poetry (Simonides, Francesca Andreoli; Stesichorus' Thebaid, Elena Scarpanti) and tragedy, choral poetry and the choral songs of Sophoclean drama (Andrea Bersellini), erotic poetry and tragedy (Sara Pastori); with the influence of the iambike idea on archaic comedy (Anika Nicolosi). The final products of the Unity Research will be the fullfillment of commented editions (Simonides, Stesichorus), that are now in preparation as prosecution of the old project; a new translation with notes of the iambographers, elegiac and monodic poets; papers and reviews.
