1.The program includes missions in Italy and/or in Europe in order to find bibliography and to collate manuscripts. It will consist in completing the collations already made for the first 4 books of the poem, and in making all of the researches useful for the exegesis and settlement of the text of book V.2.In order to pursue the plan of this research, it is necessary to make an autoptical exam of the manuscripts Oblongus and Quadratus (especially in the margins and between the single lines), which are preserved in Leiden. The same missions will provide the necessary bibliography, especially the international one, difficult to be found in Naples.
3.The program includes missions in Italy and/or in Europe in order to find specific bibliography concerning the subject.
4.The program aims to find some still unknown evidences of the diffusion of Lucretian poem among humanists and Renaissance scholars. It will start from a special reference to the Southern Humanism and the neapolitan one, that is from the knowledge and the role played from Scipione Capece to this spread, and by in his opera, and by contemporary statements. Certainly it will be useful to reproduce (by film) his de principiis rerum (1546) and to make a visit to more than one library in Italy or abroad, in order to read manuscripts and to find international bibliography.
