Here it seems convenient to explain in a very synthetic way the guidelines that this research unity will follow in order to accomplish its own research program:1) Seeking the existing sources regarding the analysed subjects with particular reference, not only to criminal law, but also to constitutional law. We will concentrate on the three fundamental sources of law: legislation, case law and literature;
2) Ascertainment of the sources acquired, also analysing the historical and comparative profiles, with reference to materials coming from the legislative, jurisprudential, and academic experience of different countries;
3) Discussion meetings and dialogue between members of the Research Unity in order to compare the work done and verify the other phases which need to be completed;
4) In order to accomplish the fist two points it will be necessary to plan study periods in Italy or in foreign countries
5) Taking part to conventions on the topic of the research, in order to develop and strengthen the knowledge of the analysed subjects, to acquire the improvements done by other academics on the same subjects and to take part to the national and international discussion on the topic.
6) Organizing conventions and meetings with the representatives of the other Unities. These meetings will be arranged together with the national coordinator of the research who is also the coordinator of this research Unity;
7) We will also make use of the contribution of Italian and foreign guests, experts on the topic of the research who will be able take part in the already mentioned meetings and at other meetings which will be organised for this purpose. This in order to develop an international discussion.
8) Developing the program through the analysis of the most relevant books, which will not necessarily be of a criminal nature, and this with the intent to offer opportunities of reflection and to answer the questions connected to the subject of the research;
9) At the end of the research we will provide documents and papers which will contain a synthesis of the results, together with analysis, reflections and comments; these results will also be used to point out the problems of the existing law and to make proposals for the reform of it.
